At Rachel Murray Eyecare, we do things a little differently.
We’re an independent, fashion-led optical practice in the heart of Sligo, known for beautiful eyewear, personal styling appointments, advanced eye care and a warm, friendly experience that clients genuinely remember.
This is not a conveyor-belt optical role.
It’s for someone who loves people, enjoys great eyewear, has an eye for detail, and wants to be part of a practice where clients are looked after properly.

Tell us a little about yourself, your optical experience, and why this role caught your eye.
His daily commute from Enniskillen has recently been taking up to 90 minutes each way, and after nearly a decade of travelling, it’s finally become too much.
Fraser has been a huge part of Rachel Murray Eyecare’s story — through our practice refit, Covid and all its challenges, trade shows in Paris and Munich, supplier trips to Copenhagen, Antwerp and Budapest, winning Fashion Practice of the Year for the UK and Ireland, choosing new frame ranges, developing our lens offering, embracing new dispensing technology — and even helping train Maisie to become the perfect practice dog.
We will miss him terribly.
But this also means there is now a very special opportunity for the right person to join our team.
Who we’re looking for
We’d love to hear from you if you are an experienced Optical Assistant or Dispensing Optician who is warm, confident, reliable and genuinely enjoys working with people.
You don’t need to be loud or salesy.
You do need to care.
The right person will be friendly, detail-focused, stylish, professional and excited by the idea of working somewhere independent, personal and a little bit special.
